About Trinity School
Trinity School
Our Mission
Trinity School seeks to draw out the best in every facet of each individual's nature:
academic and intellectual; social, emotional and physical; moral, psychological
and spiritual. The School aims to build confidence by developing personal qualities
that help to form trusting and stable relationships and encourage sound moral judgments
to be made. The School's joint Roman Catholic and Anglican foundation affirms the
Christian principles that should permeate all aspects of school life.
Our History
Trinity School was created in 1979 from an existing convent which was established
in 1905 with the purpose of educating girls. In 1977 the nuns decided to close the
school and the existing parents proposed that a co-educational joint faith Roman
Catholic and Anglican school could be created using the same buildings and many
of the same staff.
Our Vision
In the 21st Century Trinity is established as one of the top boarding and day Schools
in the region with an ecumenical outlook. It continues to be co-educational and
international, offering a broad and balanced education, with first-rate facilities
and resources. Trinity remains a centre of educational excellence, offering a range
of academic and vocational courses designed to meet individual needs.
Children respond to others they respect. They also respond to challenges and the
high expectations that are made of them. Pupils and students at Trinity are assisted
in fulfilling their potential through encouragement, praise and good relationships.
Our Community
Situated in a seaside town on the South Coast of England, the School has many distinctive
features which make it popular with parents and pupils alike. Since 1879 the school
site has been a centre of Christian-based education. In a favourable climate and
a beautiful setting overlooking the Teign Estuary and Lyme Bay at Teignmouth, Devon;
boarders and day pupils enjoy a fine, well-rounded education.
The School accommodates over 500 boys and girls; 120 places are available within
the Preparatory Department and Nursery and the Senior Department has places for
up to 320, with a Sixth Form of around 100. There is accommodation for 130 boarders,
aged 7 to 19 years, from Britain and countries world-wide.
