Assessment

Assessment is our key to monitoring high standards. Childrens work is marked daily and supported by encouraging comments and targets to aid improvement. In the Junior Department a letter ranging from A to E is given for the effort made and a mark for attainment achieved. By recognising both effort and attainment we feel that every child can achieve success.

Daily assessment is supported by NFER tests and National Curriculum tests taken in assessment week during the summer term. Reading ages and spelling ages are tracked throughout the year for all pupils and ensure that any difficulties in these areas are highlighted.

Below you will see our Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 results for 2007. We are delighted with the outcome which showed so many children achieving above the required level when our intake is non-selective and includes several students who require additional support.
